Have TUBA visit your school
A presentation from TUBA at school helps children in the upper grades by giving them the knowledge they need to eliminate the stigma surrounding substance abuse in the home.
After a presentation from TUBA’s educational service, the class will have learned about the consequences of living and growing up with parents who have substance abuse problems. Students will also be inspired to discuss these issues. We focus on this because knowledge prevents children from failing to thrive, and helps us to make good decisions for ourselves and others.
The presentation lasts for 2 class periods and is often given as part of an awareness week or other event.
TUBA’s educational service is offered for grades 7 through 10 of the Danish public school system, as well as for continuation schools and institutions of higher learning. For pricing, contact .
Should substance abuse be part of the curriculum?
Use TUBA’s educational materials to draw attention to substance abuse issues in the family. The materials are easy to download, and are designed to fit into interdisciplinary projects for students in grades 7 to 10 of the Danish public school system.
Throughout the materials, you’ll find exercises, information, and debate-sparking films. TUBA has also created a special guide for you, the teacher, on what to do if a vulnerable student comes forward.
These materials can be used when covering topics like alcohol, social stigmas, and substance abuse.
In the instructional guide, you’ll find great exercises for the whole class, as well as starting points for class debates.
The teacher’s guide includes tips on how to use the materials, how to prepare for the lessons, and how the materials fit into your yearly goals as a teacher.
The materials were developed in cooperation with Blue Cross Denmark and published with funding from the Ministry of Children and Education’s lottery proceeds. Please note that the teaching materials are in Danish.
