Where the money goes
82% of TUBA’s expenses go directly towards helping young people through therapy, counseling, and instruction.
12% goes to information, professional development, and documentation.
Only 6% goes to administrative expenses.
Each and every dollar (or krone) makes a difference at TUBA. The effect we have, and our visible work helping young people from families with substance abuse issues get better lives, are what lead our donors, the public, and the government to support TUBA’s work. We at TUBA are extremely thankful for this, and we work every day to increase the visibility of our work and become better at what we do. That’s why we’re proud of the long, tough road we’ve taken to win trust and understanding for these necessary efforts for young people from families with substance abuse. We do everything we can to optimize our work so that the money donated to TUBA makes it as close to children and youth from families with substance abuse issues as it can.
Ethics in finance
TUBA is part of Blue Cross Denmark, which has developed a set of ethics guidelines to establish rules and boundaries on how we collect money and use donated funds. These rules are meant to ensure that donations are used most effectively to promote the organization’s purpose.
Our ethical collection policy is our donors’ guarantee that everything goes the way it should when you donate to Blue Cross Denmark. Among other things, our ethics guidelines say that:
- Blue Cross Denmark doesn’t collect money from children or use children to collect money.
- Blue Cross Denmark follows Danish law regarding conditions of employment and follows applicable collective bargaining agreements.
- Together with a government-authorized auditor, we’ve created workflows for all income and expenses. The auditing firm ensures that we manage our funds in a financially appropriate manner.
- Board members and employees have their expenses covered for necessary travel and lodging, based on actual expense amounts. The least expensive transportation option is chosen whenever possible.
